I always begin my journaling with a simple prayer, “Lord let people see you and less of me and wherever my heart needs healing, let that come from your word of life.” I never choose a scripture in vain but there is always a reason behind the scripture.

I start by examining myself to see if I have demonstrated the love of God towards myself and others. I kept hearing the words “Deliver me” so I typed in the word “deliver” into my bible app and Psalm 120 came up. “In my distress, I cried to the LORD, And He heard me. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.”

Psalm 120:1-2. This resonated with me because there are so much pain and turmoil going on in the world that causes distress, and motivates people to use a deceitful tongue towards others.

My prayer is that people will begin to recognize the power of God and who God is by the way that Christians emulate His love and kindness; that people will begin to walk in the spirit and truth; and be encouraged to walk in the light of God because there are healing, blessings, and miracles when we allow God to come into our hearts.
