A Faith-Shaped Hole in My Heart

    November 14, 2016 /

Faith-Shaped Hole This post may contain affiliate links.  Please read my Disclosure for more information. I will always have a Faith-Shaped hole in my heart.  For those of you who have lost a child(ren), you know what I mean.  For those of you who haven’t, please allow me to explain. Earlier this evening, my husband, our daughter Joy, and I were hanging out in the bedroom watching a Christmas movie.  We talked about Faith and how she would be laying right next to Joy in the bed with us if she were here.  It was a very difficult moment for both of us. I know we will always have a…

Capture Your Grief – Day 13 – Regrets + Triggers

    October 14, 2015 /

Today’s Capture Your Grief topic is Regrets + Triggers.  I don’t know of any regrets that I have as far as my grief journey.   The one major regret that I do have, however, is that I did not insist on having some of Faith’s hair cut off for us to keep.  When I asked the nurse, she responded that babies at that gestation don’t really have very much hair.  Of course, I didn’t go beyond that at the time.  Although, I truly wish I would have insisted and asked for scissors to do it myself. As far as triggers go, what isn’t a trigger?  Looking at my husband and living…

    Thanksgiving Meal Today

    November 9, 2014 /

Today we made our Thanksgiving meal and enjoyed it with our friend, Gary.  It was a lot of fun cooking and baking together.  We also played pool together.  Overall, we had a very great day.   While it was a wonderful day overall, I found my mind wondering off to think of Faith (surprise)… The last time I ate the “Thanksgiving meal” almost a year ago, we had found out the evening before that I was pregnant with Faith.  I don’t think I will ever forget the amazing feeling I had when I saw the positive pregnancy test.  I am still so in love with our daughter, actually, more every…

Capture Your Grief – Day 13 – Season

    October 13, 2014 /

Today’s Capture Your Grief project prompt is Season.  I guess I really haven’t thought too much about a certain season reminding me of Faith.  Although, when I took a moment to do so, it didn’t take me long to decide which season/seasons that would be.  I have to say that the season/seasons that remind me the most of Faith are fall/winter.  We found out that I was pregnant the day before Thanksgiving last year. Over Thanksgiving time, we went into downtown Seattle to go to see the Nutcracker and to Oliver.  On one of these evenings, I took this picture of a beautiful star that was on one of the buildings, as they…
